Hearing... Helping...

Raise your hand if you have ever felt:
helpless, distraught, invisible, isolated, out of ideas, frustrated, angry, hopeless, crushed, frightened, abandoned, numb, betrayed, empty, depressed, or alone.

How Counseling Helps
Counseling can help solve your “big picture” problems, help fix your relationships, and assist you in figuring out what to do in your life. It can also give you insights into your continued unhealthy habits.

Therapy can be challenging. Uncomfortable emotions and thoughts often arise as part of the treatment process. Therapy can provide long-lasting benefits. It provides the tools for transforming your life — for relating better to others, for building the “good-life” for you, and for helping you cope with whatever concerns may arise.

"Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing:  the last of human freedoms, to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
                   -V. Frankl
This is counseling in a nutshell
No one type of counseling is best. It all depends on your needs and preferences. What is most important is a sense of connection, safety, and support for you within the counseling relationship. Being able to navigate life and make daily decisions is important for you.  Counseling styles and techniques are chosen just for you by A Fresh Start.  After is YOUR  counseling.
Doing What is Best for You
Counseling... Where to Start?

Your therapy is about YOU. Period.

We all need "a fresh start" at times.  Talking about your thoughts and feelings with a supportive trained professional is calming. It can be healing to voice your worries or talk about your heavy burdens with someone. It feels good to be listened to... to know someone else cares about you and is able to help.

Everyone can benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy for everyday concerns, such as relationship problems, job stress, or self-doubt for example. Others turn to counseling during difficult times, such as a divorce, or a loss they have experienced.

There is no smooth, fast road to recovery. It's a process that is full of twists, turns and the occasional setback. Be patient. These are expected. Changing patterns take consistent, deliberate actions to lock in lasting change.
